The Amazing Spider-Man Family Fun Night #SpidermanWMT

Do you have any Spider-Man lovers in your house? Ironically, Big Brother has never even seen any Spider-Man movie or cartoon, but since starting Kindergarten has been obsessed with it! Apparently they play Spider-Man on the playground! So, when given the opportunity to have a Spider-Man family fun night in anticipation of The Amazing Spider-Man DVD release (which is TODAY! Friday, Nov. 9th), I couldn’t resist.

Here’s how everything transpired…

Sony Pictures sent us a copy of The Amazing Spider-Man early to enjoy and we had a whole family fun Spider-Man night. To get supplies for our “party”, I headed to Walmart. (You can see the whole shopping trip in this Google+ album). I had the boys with me on this little shopping adventure and you can imagine their excitement!! They even each got to trade their Halloween candy for a Spider-Man figurine! For the food at our little family fun night, we got MarketSide pizza & breadsticks. And, the pizza wasn’t just any pizza! There actually is a whole cool Spider-Man Augmented Reality App that goes with the movie and the Spider-Man MarketSide pizza boxes! There was a big Spider-Man display above the pizza area to give some details. But, basically, you can download The Amazing Spider-Man Augmented Reality App on either iphone or google play store. There are some fun little things you can do within the Web Slinger app alone. But, there are special triggers that do some pretty amazing things! While shopping through the store, you can find trigger points to unlock pages to create your own custom comic book (yes, that’s me as Spider-Man, lol!).Then, you can activate the Augmented Reality experience from home by holding your movie cover & pizza box near each other and hovering your phone over it with the app open. 3D scenes suddenly come to life–which the boys thought was perhaps the coolest thing ever!! After all of that technological fun, we finally got around to some eating! 🙂 The spread was just our pizza, breadsticks, veggies, and then our super fun Spider-Man spiderweb pretzel pops (click that pretzel pops link to get more details)! Everything tasted great and the Spider-Man pretzel pops were a HUGE hit!!! The boys had a wonderful time. There were a lot of “cools” and “awesomes” and it got two very enthusiastic thumbs-up! 🙂 Then after they went to bed, Mr. Mom Endeavors and I enjoyed a little at-home date night by watching The Amazing Spider-Man. It was a great night!!
