Graco SnugRide Click Connect 40.…… Car Seat Review #GracoSafety

Last week at this time I had the pleasure of attending a #GracoSafety blogger event for the new Graco SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40  car seat! It was nice to have a little time out with Baby Brother and a few other local bloggers (A big thanks to Kelly from Everyday Childhood for thinking of me!). There was a little set-up on the patio of a cute, local cafe (Tryst for those of you who are Phoenix locals). We had food, socialized, and learned about the cool features on the new Graco car seat!

What made this event extra special is that we all went home with our very own Graco car seat! Just look at all of those boxes lined up! So, for the past few days, Baby Brother has had a new ride to try out!

Graco SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 Features:

The SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 is the only infant car seat that provides rear-facing protection for babies from birth to 2 years old, as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. The infant car seat grows with babies from four pounds up to 40 pounds, so parents can keep their children rear facing longer, while making sure they stay comfortable as they grow.

  • 8-position, adjustable base grows with your child providing the most leg room and a comfortable ride for up to two years.
  • 5-point, front-adjust harness.
  • Adjustable kick-plate to help protect your upholstery from scuffs and marks and is adjustable to keep pace with your child’s growth.
  • Removable newborn head support offers soft cushioning and supports baby’s head.
  • SimplySafe Adjust Harness System with a one-hand harness and headrest adjustment.
  • Easy-to-read level indicator helps eliminate guesswork from the installation process so you can feel confident its been done right for newborns up to 2 years old.

This is really such an innovative car seat, solving a couple of issues that come up for parents in the first couple of years. First off, anyone with a bigger baby typically doesn’t get the luxury of using an infant carrier past 6–9 months (since most have around a 20 pound weight limit).  But, with the Graco Click Connect 40, you can carry your sleeping babe while still inside his/her car seat as long as you can physically do it! :) Conceivably, there is no need for another car seat in the first two years!

Also, many parents feel the need to switch their toddler to forward facing as soon as they meet the weight limit, due in part to the fact that their child appears to be cramped for space. But, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, keeping your child rear-facing keeps them FIVE TIMES safer than forward facing in the car seat! The new Graco Click Connect seat has 8 recline positions to answer this issue, allowing toddlers to have maximum leg room even while rear-facing.

Having now gotten the chance to use the seat a bit, I’m loving the reclining positions. There is no awkward, uncomfortable head flopping. He looks SO comfy in there. And, I wish we would have had the seat when he was his tiny 6 pound newborn self, as the newborn insert looks fabulous! Before getting to try it out, I was a bit concerned that the seat would be way heavier & more awkward to carry than what I’ve been used to. But, I’m pleased to say that it isn’t much different at all. The only other concern I had was how well it would fit in the car. It fits fine now, but the way we have the seats configured, it can’t go through it’s full 8 positions. For some, this probably wouldn’t end up being an issue. But, we’ve got that seat up as far as it will go because Big Brother sits behind it. Then, Mr. Mom Endeavors is 6’4″ tall, so the driver’s seat needs to be able to go almost all the way back. So, once Baby Brother needs to go up in positions, we may have to make some adjustments to the seating arrangements in the car. Other than that issue though, I love everything about this seat! For more information on Graco’s SnugRide Click Connect 40 & to see the seat in action, visit Graco Safety. Available in two fabric choices (moonstruck shown above), the seat retails for $219.99 and is available at Babies R Us.

What feature(s) sound best about the Graco SnugRide Click Connect 40 car seat to you?

Disclosure: The Graco SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 – the first and only newborn to two-year infant car seat that actually grows with your baby from four pounds all the way up to 40 pounds. The car seat is designed for a parent on the go. The infant car seat can be easily removed from the base and used as a carrier when the infant is small, providing portability and convenience so you can easily move your infant in and out of the car without disturbing them.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recently made the recommendation to keep all children in rear-facing car seats until the age of 2. Graco set out to make this product so parents can keep infants rear facing longer while still keeping them comfortable.

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Graco. The opinions and text are all mine.

That looks like a fabulous carseat. Nothing like what I put my children in 30 years ago!!!!
When grandsons where small the kids gave each Grandparent a base to keep in our own vehicles, then we would just need to hand off Grandson. Love those Graco products.
