San Diego Zoo & Safari Park…Kids FREE in October {Travel Tuesday}

We LOVE the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park! They are both fab­u­lous places to visit any time of the year, but they’re extra great for fam­i­lies in Octo­ber as chil­dren under the age of 11 can get into either of the two zoos for free! This has been a tra­di­tion of the San Diego Zoo for the past 27 years and the fifth year the Safari Park has par­tic­i­pated in the kids free pro­gram. To make a visit to the Zoo and Safari Park more inter­ac­tive, fam­i­lies can pick up a list of “101 Things To Do” and check off activ­i­ties dur­ing their visit. Plus, week­end vis­i­tors to Kids Free at the Zoo and Safari Park will expe­ri­ence even more kid-friendly activ­i­ties with addi­tional ani­mal meet-and-greets, keeper talks, activ­ity booths and cos­tume char­ac­ter appear­ances. There’s even a chance to par­tic­i­pate in the Camp Crit­ters show at the Zoo or to “race” a chee­tah at the Safari Park! The Chee­tah Run at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park was one of the coolest things we’ve ever seen–and one of the hard­est to pho­to­graph! Talk about fast!! The kids loved it. I shared with you all of our love of the San Diego Zoo last year, but the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is awe­some too! We love some of the ani­mal encoun­ters we’ve had there! It’s great see­ing the ani­mals in a larger, more open envi­ron­ment. There is so much to see & do! Def­i­nitely great for a trip with the kids!So, if you live in South­ern Cali or are mak­ing a trip to San Diego this month, def­i­nitely check out the San Diego Zoo and/or Safari Park to take advan­tage of “Kids Free in Octo­ber”!
