Do you do any decorating for fall? Instead of all Halloween decor, this year I decided I wanted something a little more “general” fall that could carry us through November & into Thanksgiving. After one quick shopping trip to Lowe’s, my front entryway was fall ready! Originally I had planned to do the ever-popular pumpkin topiaries. But then we got to Lowe’s & I saw the giant cornstalk bundles (for just $8!). Our front entrance is really tall, so I thought the cornstalks would add good height & be fun for something different. Plus, they’re a nice reminder of Nebraska & perfect when we fly our Cornhuskers flag on the weekend! 😉

The whole bottom of our cornstalk bundle was filled with ears of dry corn. So I was able to take the husks off of those and pair them with the small pumpkin gourds. They worked perfectly around the corn stalks. And just to fancy things up a bit, I tied the corn stalks together with a large fall ribbon. There was a fabulous pumpkin & fall foliage selection at Lowe’s–the corn stalks, pumpkins galore, flowers, Indian corn, and gourds! I loved that there was even a Lowe’s Creative Ideas sign with ideas for pumpkin decorating. So, we snagged a few pumpkins. But, then I decided that I wanted a little pop of color right by the door too. I wanted a second tall urn like the one for the corn, but sadly, there was only 1. So, I just used a different black pot instead. Mums are perfect for fall and they had some really great yellow ones. They give such a great pop of color by the door and look great with the pumpkins! At less than $2 per container of them, it’s a simple & inexpensive way to bring in a little fall decor! Do YOU decorate your front entry for the different holidays/seasons? Would you like some money to do so?!?! ;)…

  1. I love decorating for the holidays! Our budget has been so tight that all we have this year is a little white pumpkin, so a gift card to Lowe’s would go straight into making our place more festive!

  2. I don’t think that I could pick one or two things.. There are so many things I need…paint…lumber…a rug 🙂

  4. I would purchase home organization items – totes, compartments or dividers fro drawers and closet organizers!

  5. I would buy native florida plants to redo my back patio edging! They all died with the drought we had this spring and so I would love some fall flowering plants 🙂

  6. I would love to surprise my husband with a drill that he has been wanting – then he can do some projects I have been thinking about!

  7. We’re working on replacing old wiring in our house, so any supplies for that are greatly appreciated! Knob&Tube wiring is kind of scary!

  8. I would like to buy some Vinsser Primer, Paint, sponges, and brushes for a table and chair project. I need a new table…but until we can afford that, I will re-do the one we have!

  9. I love the fall decor from Lowes – it certainly will carry you into Thanksgiving and give a warm fall welcome! As far as the gift card, we have a number of fall projects but getting a vapor barrier down in our crawl space is priority. Our daughter suffers from allergies and asthma and I just learned recently that Lowes has a durable product to put in our crawl space that might help reduce allergens in our home for her. It won’t be pretty like your lovely project – in fact no one will see it, but it would be a huge to help our family.

  10. My husband has recently decided that he wants a man cave. Is it still considered a cave if its in our garage? Either way that is what the gift card would be going towards. Now to get him interested in the 20 or so unfinished projects around the house. : )

  11. We haven’t been able to decorate at all for fall so I would love to get some fall flowers and pumpkins for the front of our home. This is my favorite time of the year

  12. I would love to put it towards a new front door for my home! I had some carpet put in years ago and when they were removing the old carpet, they took of the decorative molding on the front of my door. It broke and they never replaced it. I would love a new front door that looks nice!

  13. Cute idea! I would love to win, we are in a temp house right now , and I feel like my creative juices aren’t flowing, this would kick start me back into cute decor mode 🙂

  14. I’ve have been carefully planning (in my mind) a makeover for my bathroom. I’d like to refinish the cabinets and put some hardware on them!

  15. I was so suprised with their selection! It had been a few years since my last expetience with them (it was negative) but i was so pleased this time! I cant wait to check them out further! I also got the cornstalks, for a steal at 6 bucks!

  16. wood, always wood… or paint.. I go through a lot of wood with my cakes, but I’m also planning on refinishing my dining room table so I’m looking for a pretty stain too…
