Disney's World of ColorWe had SO much fun last month at the #DisneyAnaheim event! It was Little Brother’s first Disney trip (at 16 months old). We certainly enjoyed plenty of rides and meeting characters. But, one of the big highlights were all the parades and shows. In true Disney fashion, the details are amazing! Every few years it seems, Disney changes some of the entertainment in the parks–new shows, new parades. This spring (2011) was one of those times as Disneyland launched a new parade!

Mickey’s Soundsational Parade

Mickey's Soundsational ParadeI LOVED how colorful this parade is! Not surprisingly, the costumes & all the details are fantastic as well. It was also fun seeing just how many Disney characters & movies are highlighted in this parade, from old classics like The Three Caballeros & Mary Poppins to of course the latest, Tangled! But, I think the highlight for me was the fact that the whole  parade is definitely centered around music & has an awesome marching band feel (something I especially loved!) with a team of drummers leading the Mickey float through the streets. It was indeed, “soundsational”! And, what this meant for the boys is…DANCING! It’s one of those memories that is forever etched in my mind! As soon as the music started, the boys started dancing and continued to do so on & off throughout the entire parade. Seeing those little guys in their matching little Mickey shirts & hats dancing to the fun Disney beats melted this mama’s heart! Here’s Little Brother in mid-foot stomp and a little video clip if you’d like to see them in action! 🙂 Soooo cute! Dancing at Disneyland to Mickey's Soundsational Parade

The Magic, The Memories, and YOU!

This is another “new-ish”entertainment feature to check out each night, when the “It’s a Small World” facade transforms. It displays all kinds of different colors, scenes, and the really cool thing…pictures of people from the park, that day! And, of course, it’s all set to music to give it all that magical, goose-bumpy experience! Disneyland: Magic, Memories, and YOU

Disneyland Fireworks Spectacular

I love fireworks! (Actually, wait, I should clarify…I love watching fireworks displays, not so much a fan of the random people lighting them off.) Without fail, with every fireworks show I see at Disney, the goosebumps come…and if I’m being completely honest, I also tend to get a bit teary eyed. I don’t know what it is exactly…the music, the nostalgia,…the magic. It just happens to me. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME! This time I enjoyed practicing some fireworks photography skills too! Would have been even better with a small tripod, but I was pretty pleased nonetheless! Can you spot Tink in this one?! 🙂

Disney California Adventure Park: World of Color

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from World of Color. I have issues with change. I miss the Main Street Electrical Parade–a lot (yes, really)! So, I really wasn’t sure how I would feel about World of Color. But, WOW! I was beyond pleasantly surprised! Think the Bellagio fountains amped up in only a way that Disney can do.

Disney's California Adventure: World of ColorThe things they got water to do was incredible! Then, the music, the colors, the fire…it was amazing! I highly recommend it! This one is a MUST see!! If you’re headed to the Disneyland Parks anytime in the near future, you should definitely make this part of your plan! If you’re there early enough, you can even get Fast Passes for certain World of Color viewing areas (brilliant)!
